Getting to know Lindsay and Josh.

post written on 19 May 10 in Engagement Photos

We had the pleasure to get to know Lindsay and Josh on their engagement session. Lindsay was really nervous about her pictures. She was repeating ” I am not photogenic, I just don’t like photos of me”.  A few minutes after the session started Lindsay began to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

We all had much fun and enjoyed the beautiful beach. When Lindsay came to view her photos she was in awe. After seeing the slideshow with our favorite photos she looked at Josh and screamed “I LOVE THEM!” We were all really happy to hear this.  We look forward to her wedding coming up soon at the

W-Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

Wedding in the rain!

post written on 14 May 10 in Wedding Photos

Shannon and Sean got married in the Florida Keys, at a small cottage named The Pelican.  Shannon and Sean are both professional lifeguards and most of their friends are saving life’s professionally as well. Firefighters, cpr, rescue, etc.  I think it was the “safest wedding” that we have ever been to.

Shannon and Sean are an amazing couple who are obviously meant for each other.  They both love to joke and have fun in everything they do, truly just enjoying life. They are true FLoridians at heart!

I got the pleasure to know them very well through their engagement session as well as prepping for their wedding.

On the day of their wedding in Key Largo, it began to rain before the ceremony.  Most brides would be upset, and Shannon was at first.  She was in the room getting ready and so she could not see the weather for herself.  It kept raining and stopping.

Because we did an engagement session and I knew Shannon and Sean’s personalities so well, I was able to go to her and suggest to do the ceremony in the rain. Shannon and Sean are lifeguards, they dive, live on the beach, and basically their whole life is about the water, it fit perfectly!  So that is what they did.  All the guest had umbrellas and joined them on the beach front for one of my favorite weddings ever.

After the Ceremony they enjoyed a beautiful and personal reception with family under a thatch roof gazebo.  Then with perfect timing it quit raining so we could go walk around and get some great pictures with the video light.

Extreme session at the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

post written on 13 May 10 in trash the dress

We had the pleasure to photography Kelly and Brett’s extreme session the day after their wedding. We met at the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park right next to the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County – a historic lighthouse built in 1825.

We spent a while walking around the park getting pictures with the lighthouse and surounding property.   After getting some great shots, Kelly and Brett decided it was time to get into the water as the sun was setting.  Rolling around in the sand, it looked like they came right out of a scene from a romantic movie.

A special thanks to Kelly’s sister who followed us around and helped through out the wedding and the Extreme art session.
